About Us

My name is Mary LaFon, and I’m the one-woman show behind Bones Wilmington. Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at age 30, I knew what I wanted and needed to do: Make my days as happy and as fulfilling as possible. I knew I had to get healthier, nix the unnecessary stress, and focus on what I love. Now, 10 years later it's happened! 

Bones wants you to be happy about everything you give your pet. There is no wrong food or perfectly right way of doing something, but there are options, supplements, tools, and products that can offer your fur babies a high quality of life. Pets are unselfish, intuitive, intelligent, and crave our love and attention, They deserve the best! 

I am highly confident in all the items that are in the store, as I give them to my dogs and cats. There are no artificial ingredients or preservatives, no GMO ingredients, no low-quality anything. Small-batch mom and pop American companies, ethical and sustainable USA farmers, and local artists fill Bones. I am plastic neutral, use upcycled and donated clothing to make toys and accessories, pack and ship items with recycled boxes, and will make sure that Bones doesn't have a negative impact on our planet. Heck, the brick and mortar is even in a shipping container! It may be small, but it's packed with goodness.
